Green Power

Tri-State's voluntary Renewable Resource program results in lower costs.

When Tri-State's Green Energy program was launched in 1998, the premium charged was $2.50 per 100 kilowatt-hour block, but that was reduced by 50 percent to $1.25 per 100 kilowatt-hour block per month in 2007 and the cost for 2009 was reduced to $0.40 per 100 kilowatt-hour block. The price is $0.09 per 100 kilowatt-hour block. The price will change as the market charges.

As a wholesale power supplier, Tri-State offers the voluntary renewable resource option to its member cooperatives which, in turn, can extend it to their end-use consumers. You may participate in the green power program by contacting Highline Electric. Each consumer who chooses to participate in the program is committing to purchase at least one 100-kilowatt-hour block of electricity per month from renewable resources. Of course, you can choose to purchase more green power - up to your total monthly consumption.
